i've never been interested in watching runway shows for menswear collection. until i saw this.

ugh, just lovely!

i'm always elated when it's very obvious that a big effort's been put to produce an Ooohh-inducing show. like this one of course. ♥ putting together a collection of cohesive designs is one, but pulling off a beautiful show to feature the collection is a martyr's work. hands down, just hands down.

if i ever want my man to be really fashionable (y'know, without looking like he's way too fashionable for a MAN), i'd make him wear these! ♥

the collection is inspired by Rudolf Nureyev, a Russian Tatar dancer from the former Soviet Union.

supermodel XXX

i've always been fascinated with high fashion models. the blank canvass that is their faces. the mounds of cheekbones. oh, their eyes that can launch a thousand ship (to wreck!) for they always pierce as if asking anyone who's brave enough to hold a stare to unravel the mysteries they hold. and i won't forget to mention their seemingly abnormal long legs and torso.

in my mind, they're either Brazilian or Scandinavian, or from some town in Eastern Europe that's prolly a home to giants once upon a time. hehe. =) they're beautiful, okay! but not the stereotype beautiful. they're speccially so that to see them beautiful, one should have a gift. (okay, stop right there. i am not an an authority in this field, so don't believe every word i say. just 90% of them. hihi. ;P) a gift to be able to appreciate. because ask a bystander or a CEO and they won't find these girls pretty. know what i mean? here's another one. Kirsten Dunst or Abbey Lee? Eva Mendez or Chanel Iman? Vanessa Williams or Linda Evangelista? do a survey and i'm sure the formers beat the latters.

this is actually not the case ever since. back in the time of Cindy Crawford, a model's got to be perfect from hair to toenails. but nowadays, the range has been widened already. perfect is out! you gotta stand out. that's it. even if you're as black as midnight, or have a naughty ink on the belly, donning a pixie cut, or as 'pango' and 'singkit' as Asians, if you can walk THE walk, you're supermodel honey. (well of course, it's still a staple to be tall & skinny. i mean, hello! we're talking supermodels.)  =)

so where am i going with this again? well, when i watch runway shows, i always wonder if Filipina beauty will ever make the cut globally. we're not mainstream beauty anyway (aka? exotic. ;P). and then i'd remeber, oh we're not tall. =) but if we are, or if there are, will we?

then Charo Ronquillo happened. =) i do not know just how big Ford Supermodel of the World is. (i told you i'm not an authority.) but her bagging the 3rd place in the competition back in 2006 put a period in my wondering. =) WE (as if i'm one of her lot. haha! we're both Pinays, ok?) CAN MAKE THE CUT!

blogAvid: Can't Get Enough by Young JV

i don't think it's nice posting songs here. but believe me, i'm doing my best. ^_^ okay, i promise not to anymore unless i uber like the song. that a deal?

i was loitering around Eastwood last weekend and it happened to be the Saturday for the 2nd Urban Music Awards organized by the Metro's Most Influential R&B station, Wave 89.1. (i'll be blogging 'bout it soon.) so instead of calling it a night at 6-ish, we (i was with my brothers) ended up going home at 11. =)

i never have to explain how R&B/HipHop is on the top of my music list. it's the type of music which i don't need to be familiar with to like it. it's always love at first hear, no waiting for it to make it to mainstream. it's the rhythm my body is tuned to. (maybe it's what's playing in the hospital room when my mom was in labor. ;P ) I GRIND THE BEST TO THESE SONGS! and my mind goes really far to imagine- or fantasy-land so easily when these songs are playing. haha. =) if you'd ever like to know me through songs, this is the stuff baby. =)

Young JV bagged the Best Male Style Icon and Best Video awards. i believe he's a regular on ASAP and ShoutOut, but I never really sheepishly grinned over him until I saw this vid. ha ha ha! =D laugh now i tell you, 'cause this is gonna get cornier. he's just too cute here. in the boyish way, you know. that's why i feel so like a cougar. ugh! the last time i got boy-crush was over O-Town. (i knooooow, ok!)

i'm digging the club scene on this video 'cause it's really clean looking. not a lot of alcohol bottles or smoke. =) if clubbin' is ever my thing, it is only because of the dance floor! it's where all it happens. nothing makes me happier in a club. oh, except the beefcakes of course. hehe. does this boy even pass for a beefcake? JV, i shall wait for you til you drop the Young. (wouldn't i be older then too? psh!) hmn, let's just dance then, while i can still grind those hips. =)

i'm thinking of doing this now regularly. like welcome each month, and think of really quirky names to call 'em. hmn? what do you guys think? =) so THE heart's month is finally here. uhm, yay? or should that be love month? who the effin cares? at least not me right now. hihi. =) oh, don't you start me with Valentines! February's never been the valentine month for me. i mean not yet. we don't know, this might be the first. ;) now Mila Kunis! oh yes, what better way to welcome FABruary than with one of SAG's Awards Night Best Dressed. don't get those brows arced, Screen Actors Guild Awards is big too.

i believe red should be part of February's colors, so here it is. =) last month's been really good with nothing but the best vibes, so beat January with your fab February! ♥♥♥ i'm always ready. =)
